PRIVACY POLICY — ICS VIEWER
Effective date: November 4, 2026
App: ICS Viewer (com.tahatec.ics_viewer)
Developer: Tahatec
Contact:

SUMMARY
ICS Viewer opens iCalendar (.ics) files and calendar links, shows their
events, to-dos and details, and can add events to a calendar on your device.
All of this happens on your device. The app has no accounts, no sign-in and
no servers of its own. The calendar files you open are never uploaded and
never shared with us. The network is used only to download a calendar link
you choose to open, for advertising, for the optional push notifications and
for the anonymous usage and crash reports described below.
1. CALENDAR FILES AND LINKS
- Files you open (from the file picker, "Open with" or "Share") are read
through Android's Storage Access Framework, which gives the app access to
that one file only. The app has no permission to browse your storage.
- When you open a calendar link (webcal:// or https://), the app downloads
that file directly from the address you gave. The address is never sent to
us and is never included in analytics, because such links often contain a
private access token.
- Files are parsed on your device. Their events, people, notes and
locations are never sent anywhere.
- "Save a copy", "Export as CSV" and "Share" write only to the location you
choose, or to a temporary copy in the app's private cache handed to the app
you pick. "Remove details and share" removes the details you select before
the copy is made.
- The app remembers the names and locations of recently opened files so
you can reopen them. Calendar links are not remembered. This list stays on your device; you can
remove entries or clear it at any time.
- The clipboard is read only when you choose "Paste text", and written only
when you tap a Copy action.
2. YOUR DEVICE CALENDAR
- "Add to calendar" on a single event opens your calendar app with the
event filled in. No permission is needed and you confirm it there.
- "Add all" asks for the calendar permission (read and write) only when you
use it. The app reads the list of your calendars so you can pick one, and
reads events it added earlier only to skip duplicates. It writes the events
you chose and nothing else.
- Attendees are never copied into your calendar, so no invitations are
sent to anyone.
- If your phone has no calendar account, the app can create a calendar kept
only on your device.
- Nothing read from your calendar leaves your device.
3. INFORMATION THE APP STORES
Your preferences (theme, language, display settings, notification choice)
and the recent-files list — on your device only. Uninstalling the app deletes
everything it stored. Events you added to your device calendar stay there
until you delete them in your calendar app.
4. ADVERTISING
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob, which may also use certified
mediation partners such as Meta Audience Network. When requesting and
showing ads, these partners may collect and process data on their own
behalf, such as your advertising ID, IP address, coarse location derived
from it, and device and diagnostic information. This is standard for
ad-supported apps and is governed by the partners' own policies:
- Google:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Meta Audience Network:
https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy
Advertising partners never receive the contents or names of your calendar
files, or anything from your device calendar.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other regulated
regions, the app shows a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform)
before any ad request is made, and you can change your choice at any time
under Settings → Ad privacy choices inside the app. You can also reset your
advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in your device's Google
settings.
5. USAGE ANALYTICS AND CRASH REPORTS
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to learn
which features are used (for example how a file was opened, rough counts of
its events, or whether events were added or exported) and to receive reports
when the app crashes. These reports contain device and app information
(model, OS version, app version, a random installation identifier) but never
an event's title, time, place, people or notes, a file's name or location,
or a calendar link. Firebase's handling of this data is described at
https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
6. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS
If you allow notifications, the app registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging
so we can send occasional update announcements. Registration creates a
device token held by Google; it is not linked to your identity and we store
no list of recipients. You can turn notifications off at any time in your
device's app settings. The prompt is shown only after you finish a task such
as adding, saving or sharing, never on launch.
7. PERMISSIONS AT A GLANCE
- Internet: downloading calendar links you open, advertising, consent form,
analytics and notifications.
- Calendar (read and write): requested only when you use "Add all", as
described in section 2.
- Notifications (Android 13 and later): requested only if you choose to
enable notifications.
- No storage, camera, microphone, contacts or location permission is used.
8. CHILDREN
The app is a utility, is not directed at children under 13, and we
knowingly collect no personal information from anyone, including children.
9. DATA DELETION
We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to delete: uninstalling
the app removes everything it stored on your device. Analytics and crash
data are held by Firebase under the policy linked in section 5, and
advertising data by the partners in section 4.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same
address with a new effective date. Material changes will be reflected in the
app's store listing.
