Compare years and plan a raise
The 2026-27 rates restructured the salary slabs and removed the surcharge. See what the same salary would have cost under any earlier year, or compare all eleven at once, and see how much of a pay rise survives tax before you negotiate.
How the calculation works
Pakistan taxes salaried income in bands. Each band applies only to the part of your income inside it, which is why your top band rate is almost never the rate you pay overall. The app prints the arithmetic, the fixed amount for your band plus the percentage on the excess, so nothing is hidden.
This is not a government app and is not affiliated with the FBR. Rates follow the salaried-individual slabs in Pakistan's Finance Acts as published at fbr.gov.pk; they are for guidance, not tax advice, and do not include credits, exemptions or other income.
Questions
- What is the difference between effective and marginal tax rate?
- Your marginal rate is the rate on your next rupee of income. Your effective rate is your total tax divided by your total income, which is always lower. The app shows both.
- Which tax years are covered?
- 2016-17 through 2026-27, eleven years in total, so you can check old payslips or compare years.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes. All the rates are built into the app, so it needs no internet connection.
