Privacy Policy — Hash Generator

Android com.tahatec.hash_generator · iOS com.tahatec.hashGenerator · Published by Tahatec · Effective 12 October 2026

Hash Generator (“the app”) computes cryptographic hashes and checksums — SHA-1, SHA-2, MD5, CRC32 and keyed HMAC — of text you type and files you choose, and compares them against an expected value. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with data, on Android and on iOS.

Your text and files never leave your device

Every hash is computed by the app’s own code, entirely on your device. The text you enter, the files you select, the secret key you type for HMAC, and the resulting digests are never uploaded; the developer has no access to them and no server is involved. The app works fully offline.

So that you can find them again, the digests you generate are kept in a History list stored only on your device, together with the algorithm, the time, and either the file name or the text that was hashed. Deleting an entry, tapping Clear All, or uninstalling the app removes them. The HMAC secret key is never stored.

What leaves your device

1. Advertising. The app shows ads via Google AdMob, with Meta Audience Network as a mediated partner. The ads SDKs may collect device identifiers (the Android advertising ID, or on iOS the IDFA — only if you allow tracking), coarse location derived from the IP address, and diagnostic signals to serve and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and regulated US states, ads are requested only after you make a choice in the consent dialog (Google UMP). On iOS, the system’s App Tracking Transparency prompt asks before the IDFA is used, and your answer can be changed at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

2. Analytics and crash reporting. The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. Analytics events record the shape of an action only — for example that a file of an approximate size was hashed with a given algorithm, or that a comparison matched — never the text, the file name, the digest or the HMAC key. Crash reports contain stack traces and device model information, not what was being hashed.

3. Notifications (optional). If you allow notifications when the app asks, it registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging (via Apple Push Notification service on iOS) so it can receive occasional announcements. Declining or later disabling notifications in system settings stops them. Notifications never contain anything about your text or files.

What the app does not do

Permissions

On Android the app uses the INTERNET permission (for ads, analytics and crash reporting) and, if you allow it, the notification permission. On iOS it asks only for notification permission and for tracking permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt. Files reach the app only when you pick one with the system file picker.

Children

The app is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Deleting your data

Everything the app stores (the History list and your algorithm and language preferences) is on your device and is deleted by clearing History or uninstalling the app. For questions about data held by the services above, contact us and we will help.

Changes

Changes to this policy will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
