Privacy Policy — Shade Shift

Package com.tahatec.shade_shift · Published by Tahatec

Effective date: 22nd August, 2026 App: Shade Shift (Android package com.tahatec.shade_shift) Developer: Tahatec Contact: support@tahatec.com The short version Shade Shift is a colour puzzle game. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server of our own. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, or payment details, and there is nowhere in the game to type anything at all. Your scores and settings are stored only on your device. We cannot see them. The app does include Google services for analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and one advertisement. Those services collect data about your device and how you use the app, and that is described in detail below. 1. What we do not collect We want to be specific about this, because the list is short and it matters: No name, email address, postal address, phone number, or date of birth. No payment or financial information. The app contains no purchases. No account or profile. There is nothing to sign in to. No contacts, photos, videos, files, microphone, or camera access. The app requests none of these permissions and cannot read them. No precise or coarse location permission. (Advertising and analytics providers may infer an approximate region from your IP address — see sections 3 and 4.) No text you have typed. The game has no text field anywhere in it. No health, biometric, or other special-category data. The calibration screen measures how well you can distinguish two shades of colour on your screen. The result is a single number kept on your device and used only to set the game's difficulty. It is not a medical or vision test, it is not diagnostic, and it is not transmitted with any identifier attached to you. 2. Data stored only on your device The app saves the following to your device's own app storage. This never leaves your device unless you deliberately share a result (see section 7) or your device operating system backs up app data on your behalf under its own settings. Your chosen language. Whether vibration is on. Your accessibility settings: the calibration result and whether differences are restricted to light and dark only. Your best score, longest streak, and number of games played. Your daily challenge results, day streak, and the last date you played. Uninstalling the app removes all of it. You can also clear it without uninstalling from your device's app settings ("Clear storage" or equivalent). 3. Analytics The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played, so that its difficulty can be tuned and broken parts can be found. What we record is limited to how a run of the game went. Specifically: that a game started and ended, the score, the level reached, the longest streak, how many wrong taps were made, whether the run ended on the clock or on wrong taps, whether it was the daily challenge or the endless mode, when a hint or extra time was used, when an advertisement was offered and whether it was watched, when a daily result was shared, when the language was changed, when calibration finished and the resulting difficulty value, and whether notification permission was granted. We also record three properties describing your setup: the display language, whether the light-and-dark-only accessibility setting is on, and a broad band for your best score ("none", "1–100", "101–500", "over 500") rather than the number itself. None of this describes you. It describes a game. Google additionally collects information of its own as part of providing the service, which typically includes a randomly generated app instance identifier, your device model and operating system version, the app version, and an approximate region derived from your IP address. We do not control that collection. See Google's own documentation on Analytics data collection and how Google uses data from apps that use its services. 4. Advertising The app shows one advertisement, and only if you ask for it: a rewarded video you can choose to watch at the end of a run in exchange for an extra life, or mid-run in exchange for another hint. There are no banners, no advertisements between screens, and nothing that interrupts a game you are playing. Advertisements are supplied by Google AdMob. To serve and measure them, Google and its advertising partners may collect your device's advertising identifier, your IP address, device and operating system information, and data about your interaction with the advertisement. Depending on your consent (section 5), this may be used to show you personalised advertising. See Google's Advertising policies and the list of advertising partners Google may share data with. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier, or opt out of advertising personalisation, in your device settings — on Android, under Settings → Privacy → Ads. 5. Consent Where the law requires it — currently the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and certain US states — the app asks for your consent before requesting any advertisement, using Google's User Messaging Platform, a certified consent management platform. If you do not consent, the advertising system is not started at all. No advertisement is requested, and the advertising-related signals passed to analytics are withheld. You can change your answer at any time: Settings → Privacy options, inside the app. That option appears only where a consent choice applies to you. Measurement of the app itself — the game statistics in section 3 — is treated separately from advertising and continues so that the game can be maintained and improved. 6. Crash reporting The app uses Firebase Crashlytics so that crashes can be found and fixed. When the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent containing the technical details of the failure: the error, the stack trace, your device model, operating system version, and app version, together with an installation identifier generated by Crashlytics. Crash reports deliberately carry nothing about how you were playing. No score, no settings, and no content of any kind is attached to them. 7. Notifications The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can tell you about new challenges. To be accurate about the order of events: when the app first starts, it registers with Google's messaging service and receives a device registration token. That happens whether or not you have allowed notifications, because the token is what identifies the device to the service. The token is not linked to your identity. Notifications are only shown to you if you grant permission, and the app only asks for that permission when you tap "Turn on" in Settings — never on launch and never during a game. You can withdraw it at any time in your device settings. 8. Sharing your result The daily challenge lets you share your result. Tapping Share hands a short piece of text — the challenge number, the level you reached, your score, your day streak, and a row of coloured squares showing how quickly you answered — to your device's own share sheet. You choose where it goes. We do not transmit it, we do not see it, and we do not keep a copy. Once you pick an app to send it to, that app's own privacy policy applies. The text deliberately contains nothing about the puzzle itself, so posting it does not spoil the day's challenge for anyone else. 9. Children We do not knowingly collect personal information from Childen. 10. Permissions the app requests Most of these are added by the Google services above rather than by the game itself, and none of them grant access to your personal content. Permission Why it is there Internet, network state Loading advertisements, sending analytics and crash reports Advertising ID and related advertising services Serving and measuring the one advertisement Notifications Only if you turn notifications on yourself Receive messages, wake lock, foreground service Delivering a notification when one is sent Install referrer Analytics attribution, provided by Google Play The app requests no permission for location, contacts, storage, photos, camera, or microphone. 11. How long data is kept We hold nothing ourselves, so we have nothing to retain. Data on your device stays until you clear it or uninstall the app. Data collected by Google is kept according to Google's own retention settings and policies. Analytics event data on the free tier is retained for a limited period configured in the Firebase console; crash reports and advertising data follow Google's published schedules. 12. Where data goes Google processes data on servers in a number of countries, including outside your own. Transfers are governed by Google's own safeguards and contractual terms as a processor. See Google's privacy policy and Firebase data processing terms. 13. Your rights Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no data about you ourselves, the practical routes are: Data on your device: clear the app's storage, or uninstall it. Advertising: reset or delete your advertising identifier, and opt out of personalisation, in your device settings. Change your consent answer in the app under Settings → Privacy options. Analytics and crash data held by Google: these are tied to identifiers generated on your device rather than to you. Uninstalling the app stops further collection. For requests about data Google holds, use Google's own privacy controls and contact routes. Anything else: write to support@tahatec.com and we will help as far as we are able. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. 14. Selling your data We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising other than through the advertising described in section 4, which is subject to your consent where the law requires it. 15. Security Nothing in this app leaves your device to us, because there is no "us" on the network — the game has no backend. Traffic to Google's services is encrypted in transit by those services. No system is perfectly secure. If you find a security problem in the app, please report it to support@tahatec.com 16. Changes to this policy If this policy changes we will update the effective date at the top and publish the new version at the same address. Material changes affecting how data is collected will be reflected in the app's store listing. 17. Contact Questions about this policy or about your data: Muhammad Taha support@tahatec.com
